The fundraiser, titled “Oprah Books: My Favorite Kids, Part 1,” is set to feature books from the Oprah Winfrey Network and other sources including the New York Times, The New York Post, and the New Yorker.
A donation is also being accepted online.
It will be $25 per person.
The event is set for 2 p.m.
Saturday in the home of a former Atlanta police officer who was killed while on duty in 2015.
Oprah will also be appearing in a special on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
The family of the slain officer, 32-year-old Brandon Davis, had asked the show to make the event a fundraiser for the officer’s family.
Davis was one of several people who were struck and killed by a driver while responding to a crash on July 3, 2015.
Davis, who served in the Atlanta Police Department, was driving south on Highway 4 in his squad car on Interstate 285 when a driver struck him from behind and sent him flying into the ground.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
